The Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (SAKURA Exchange Program in Science) took place from 2–8 November 2025 in Nagasaki, Japan, under the theme “Training on Membrane Separation Technology to Make Safe Water from Polluted Water Sources.”
Representing Institut Teknologi Bandung, Dr. Khoiruddin and three students from the Food Engineering Program — Andrea Renata Hasianna Surya, Geraldus Edric Riadi, and Dian Pradayan Huse — joined young researchers from Vietnam and Thailand under the guidance of Prof. Takahiro Fujioka, Nagasaki University.
Through lectures, membrane experiments (NF, RO, FO), system design activities, and a visit to the Sasebo Water Treatment Plant, participants explored innovative technologies for clean and safe water.
This meaningful collaboration embodies the spirit of SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) — fostering innovation and cross-border cooperation toward a more sustainable future. 💧🌏
