Chemurgy Innovation Summit (CIS) 2023 activities at ITB Jatinangor Campus GKU 2 Auditorium ITB Jatinangor Campus became the venue for the Chemurgy Innovation Summit (CIS) 2023 Grand Seminar to be held on May 27 2023. This activity is a routine biennial activity initiated by the Bioenergy Engineering Student Association and Kemurgi “Rinuva” ITB.

CIS 2023 carries the theme “Chemurgy: Indonesia’s Future In Bio-Based Economy” which is filled with seminars as the main event and several competitions as pre-events. These competitions included a Poster Competition and a Scientific Writing Competition for high school students and a Product Innovation Competition for college students.

The CIS 2023 Grand Seminar discussed several interesting topics, including “Considering the Potential of Biofuel Raw Materials in Indonesia: Opportunities and Challenges” presented by Dr. Oki Muraza (PT Pertamina) and Dr. Carolus Borromeus Rasrendra (ITB), as well as “Future Vehicles for Sustainable Transportation: Electric Cars VS Biofuel Cars” delivered by Dr. Tatang Hernas Soerawidjaja (IKABI) and Ir. Abdul Rochim (GAIKINDO).

This seminar was held with the aim of introducing the potential and urgency of biomass in the Chemurgy field as the foundation for the nation’s economic independence. This activity was also filled with giving appreciation to the presenters and participants who won competitions and exhibitions of Chemurgy products. The hope is that the Chemurgy Innovation Summit (CIS) can become a medium for students to innovate and create new breakthroughs in the field of Chemurgy as well as a forum for discussing the potential of Natural Resources and the development of Chemurgy science in Indonesia between academics, businessmen, industry and the government.
