MBKM Student Exchange Program Between UGM-ITB

This program is held in order to shape the attitude of students of Department of Chemical Engineering and The Department of Bioenergy Engineering and Chemurgy as stated in the Attachment to the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 3 of 2020, namely respecting the diversity of cultures, views, religions, and beliefs as well as the opinions or original findings of others; and work together and have social sensitivity and concern for society and the environment. In this program, students of Department of Chemical Engineering and The Department of Bioenergy Engineering and Chemurgy will take courses in other Programs either within the same institution (ITB) or with different institutions (other universities) that are in line with the learning objectives in the Department of Chemical Engineering and The Department of Bioenergy Engineering and Chemurgy.

Regarding the Student Exchange program, Department of Chemical Engineering and The Department of Bioenergy Engineering and Chemurgy have held discussions with other programs, such as Chemical Engineering Program, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The Student Exchange Program will be rolled out from Semester 1 2021/2022. There are approximately 20 students from the Chemical Engineering Community of ITB and 21 students from Chemical Engineering UGM who participated in this MBKM student exchange program.

UGM Chemical Engineering Program has elective courses of interest in the form of Separation and Purification of Biological Products which are very useful for students. In addition, the Renewable Energy elective course is very supportive of education for students of Department of Chemical Engineering and The Department of Bioenergy Engineering and Chemurgy. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, the learning process is still being carried out online. Hopefully this collaboration can be improved in the future.
