Collaborating for Indonesia’s Clean Energy Future
From research laboratories to collaboration halls, the journey toward a cleaner energy future continues to advance.
The Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), PT Thorcon Power Indonesia, and PT Aimtopindo Nuansa Kimia have officially signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) to strengthen research and development of Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) technology — an innovative, low-emission nuclear power system that holds great potential for Indonesia’s sustainable energy transition.
This collaboration goes beyond technological advancement — it represents a shared commitment to building an energy ecosystem that is safe, efficient, and sustainable through science and partnership. The research will now progress to the pilot scale phase, ensuring that the developed technology can be implemented beyond laboratory settings and contribute directly to national energy goals.
Aligned with the principles of SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), this initiative highlights the synergy between academia, industry, and government in accelerating Indonesia’s transition toward clean and low-carbon energy.
Through continuous collaboration and innovation, ITB and its partners are committed to advancing research that empowers people, drives technological progress, and safeguards the planet for future generations 🌱
